Welcome
The Clearance and Exemption Working Group (CEWG) is a nuclear industry working group that aims to:
(1) provide and foster a safe, responsible and sustainable approach to clearance and exemption issues amongst the major nuclear organisations in the United Kingdom, and
(2) contribute to the development of national and international legislation, standards and guidance as appropriate.
Membership of the CEWG is drawn from a combination of regulators, nuclear site license holders, nuclear operators and the service supply chain. Membership is regularly reviewed and is summarised on the 'About Us' page. Each member of the group acts as a point of contact for other interested parties. Enquiries may be sent to the group via the ‘Contact Us’ page.
CEWG has produced a Code of Practice on Clearance and Exemption Principles, Processes and Practices which has been widely adopted within the UK, and is officially published on this website.
We cannot achieve our overall objective (that of providing and fostering a safe, responsible and sustainable approach to clearance and exemption issues) without achieving dialogue and understanding amongst those who have an interest in this area. As part of this, CEWG has set up this website as one means of communicating with interested parties.
The site will undoubtedly change over time, and we welcome any comments on what it should contain.
In the meantime - happy browsing !!!
